I’ve noticed that most of my food tests have been sweets and other not-so-healthy indulgences. So, today I tried out a pin for clean & healthy garlicy(sp) green beans. Here is the original post for the recipe. Coincidentally, I found this pin to be another “foodie flop.” I was not at all impressed by these beans, even though I closely followed the recipe (I used regular parsley instead of Italian, and added some white mushrooms). I’m not sure what did it, but these beans had a very “fishy” taste and smell to them. I don’t have anything against fish; but when I want to eat something fishy, it will be fish. When I’m eating green beans, I still want the beans to taste like beans. Instead of this recipe, I’d recommend just steaming your green beans. They stay crisp, nutritious, and there’s less chance of odd flavors showing up for the party.
